Attorney Profile

SHEILA H. MEER was born in Denver, Colorado. She received her B.A. at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where she graduated with distinction, Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her law degree (J.D.) from the University of California School of Law, Berkeley (Boalt Hall).

She practiced first with the Legal Aid Society of Metropolitan Denver, then as a Colorado First Assistant Attorney General and Deputy Director of the Colorado Medicaid Fraud and Abuse Office.

In 1979, she entered the private practice of law. Her practice focuses on professional, occupational, and business licensure and disciplinary defense, civil litigation, and employment litigation.

She has been the author of the Colorado Bar Association’s Annual Survey of Administrative Law since 1985 and has taught and written about administrative & regulatory law subjects throughout her career.

Her clients include physicians, dentists, chiropractors, physical therapists, nurses, veterinarians, outfitters, mental health therapists, nursing home administrators, clinics, retirement centers, nursing homes, night clubs, elected officials, and professional and occupational organizations and schools.

She is retained as a consulting lawyer and/or an Administrative Law expert witness several times a year in administrative/regulatory litigation cases.

She enjoys Martindale Hubbell’s highest “AV” rating.

 

DIANA SCHATZ attended Oberlin College for her A.B. in Government, then obtained her degree from Boston University Law School in 1983.  She specializes in Administrative Litigation helping licensed individuals navigate issues brought before their licensing agency.

Prior to moving to private practice, she was a member of the Colorado Attorney General’s office from 1989 until 2004. Her career is distinguished by the case of State of Colorado vs May Department Stores.

In her spare time, Ms. Schatz, enjoys riding horses at her home in Jefferson County.
